What is a membrane?
Bitumen membranes are modified products for waterproofing of new and old buildings.
There are many types of membranes that can be used for different applications:
- In roofing, for example, cap sheets are used for the protection of the base layer. Membranes have a number of names, such as "roof underlayment", "vapour barrier", "waterproof membrane" etc.
- Waterproofing membranes are also used to protect foundations and underground walls.
- Waterproofing membranes are also used in civil engineering works; viaducts, bridges and tunnels on highways and railways.
- Waterproofing membranes are also used to protect the building against plant roots damages in green roofs
